I am partly to blame for this too. Grimrock is such an amazing concept that it is a crime not to develop for it. The problem I had was the cumbersome nature of the tools (particularly custom model animations, particularly with doors). But really, I got distracted and stopped working on my projects. I think what had a lot to do with it was back when LOG2 was announced, AH told us about all the wonderful improvements to modding, so I figured I would just wait it out. That was a year or more ago. In the meantime Ive produced nothing, and I am ashamed of that.
However. I want to get back in to making Tileset Models. I figure that if the size of tiles will stay compatible with LOG1, so that at least I can work on today. I have decided (mostly because the assets are elsewhere) to abandon the Captive mod, and instead will endevour to make generic Sci-Fi tilesets for other level creators to use. Because, honestly, Dungeon Master is all well and a classic and good. Don't get me wrong. But everyone has jumped on the medieval theme here, and much like in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Sci-Fi possibilities of this type of engine have fallen to the wayside.
But I think I will come back. I'll start a new thread when I have some interesting stuff to show and anyone who is still left around can help me out. I am glad to see that there still are a lot of the old modders still here. Anyway that was rambling.
