Unfortunately, from what I understood, the texts aren't all packed together in a single file, but are scattered across the Lua files, packed together with the data.

Since AH doesn't like you to distribute modified versions of their files, you can't actually translate and distribute it, unless either they change their policy, or start using separate files for all the text.

Since the Dungeon Editor Beta is out, is it possible to translate the texts of the original game now?

No. There is no facility for multiple languages at all.
