Grimstone Keep (A Reimagining of Stonekeep by Interplay)

Hey everyone,

Growing up there were few games that did a number on me than Stonekeep did. This was an underrated and amazing game.

Being a long-time fan, I've wanted to see a remaster of this game. That never came. Due to this, I've started working on recreating/reimaging Stonekeep (1995 Interplay game). No, it won't be 1:1 or a port or anything like that. But, I want this to be something that brings back the awe that Stonekeep did.

I feel that this could be a really cool game with all the built-in assets that the LoG2 editor already has. I've mostly finished the first level...

I've even got the second level built, but adding in mobs, secrets, new rooms, etc.

However, there are some things that I have yet to figure out how they will be done (I am still learning.). I was curious if others might know of some decent resources to learn these things (mainly the cinematics, dialogue, characters, etc.).

I appreciate any pointers anyone has.

Thank you!

So, I'd imagine that a lot of these images would seem rather normal for those here modding LoG2. Yes, currently using the LoG2 core assets as well as those from Skuggasveinn (Dead Bodies and Secret bookshelf door project), ORRR3, and Bongobeat. Yes, they will all be noted in credits, etc... once I figure out how to get an Intro going.

Work on the second level is going pretty well. Worked on the Smithy last night and am really proud of it. Thank you to those noted for the assets to make it possible.

I remember enjoying Stonekeep, but I think I didn't get very far. I still associate it with salt and vinegar chips since I was snacking on those while playing back in 2000 or so.

Being honest, I'm not sure I've ever finished the game, but I do know I got near the end. For me, the music and story were awesome and I still like it today. It's what got me into the fantasy genre.

As some were asking about my progress thus far, they were also asking for a demo. Took a few days to get one, but I've got a development demo out on NexusMods.

I've be glad to hear some constructive criticism!
