Hello!

Did you apply the 4 GB patch to the Grimrock 2 executable (.exe) in its installation folder? Are you using Hardabar version V206R?

Could you tell me the characteristics of your computer? Processor, RAM memory and graphic card.

Yes, I have applied the patch, and it works with some of the other big mods like final adventure. and journey to justice. I even tried another computer, which i had refurbished, but the same crash occurred. The message is just "software failure"

Try going to the "Documents\Almost Human\Legend of Grimrock 2", create a folder there and put all the savgames (.sav files) in that folder (so you won't lose them), leave only the Hardabar savegame in the main folder. I understand that for some reason having a lot of savegames creates problems when loading this mod (although I don't understand the reason).

What processor, RAM and graphics card do you use?

Hi Bongobeat (and hi again, DonEmilio ^^), i like this mod so much, i played the 204R until the departure to Mount Khalid ( it was insanely hard XD ), then i discovered there was a new version, incompatible with my save...well, and i started all over again with the new version.

Now i'm at Mount Khalid again and finally entered, touched the "buff stone" and as soon as the effect vanishes...."crash" -.-

I thought it was just a coincidence and loaded again: i just stay still doing absolutely nothing and wait and, crash again as the effect vanishes...

I don't receive a Lua error, i searched for the log file but i didn't find any, is it a common issue for you? I'm not able to do anything, i load, wait just a few seconds (staying still) and it crashes again, every single time...

If you know a way to solve this please tell me as soon as you can! ^^

Waiting for your reply! (if you remember me, i'm the one pestering you years ago with assets modding ^^)


Ps. i told you i played the previous version, i was just wondering why you removed the "planetarium" puzzle, it was nice.

Now that i entered that room again and found neither stones nor notes waiting for me i was just thinking to go back, not to push every single wall searching maybe for a secret, or at least i found no evidence i had to do it, i just did it because i always do it with every single wall and i was lucky ^^

REGARDING YOUR BUG: I have not understood very well and I guess you mean “mount khand” and the “healing stone” inside Mount Khand, in any case I have passed this mod 3 times (and a half) and I never passed that in Mount Khand, but if something similar happened in the Castle of Hardabar one of the times, what I did was load the game and quickly change level (up or down the stairs) and save the game, that solved it.

PLANETARIUM PUZZLE: It had an important bug that if you press the reset button before aligning the stones for the first time (quite easy) the door did not open, to solve it you had to press reset, down the stairs, up the stairs, press reset again and then align the spheres, the door will open, bongobeat said it was too complicated to solve so it was decided to remove the puzzle. Here is the video where I demonstrated in which circumstances the door does not open and if it opens, loading the game several times and aligning the spheres: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmaKpleIOME

ABOUT THE COMBATS: You say that you found it very difficult, that seemed to me the first time I played, however it is not so much when you discover the power of dark magic (especially dark burst), firearms and the special of firearms against difficult monsters and bosses, items that you can buy or find that allow you to cast spells without spending mana, invisibility + backstabs, invisibility + special of repeater and dragon rifle, the secondary attack of the bow of the elements (devastating, you must steal it from the wizard of Skycity) and various items that cast light magic, that's not to mention how many herbs you can buy and how cheap it is to create resurrection potions (I bought the ‘black moss’ 30 at a time).

And don't let it happen to you like the first time I didn't realize that I could move with the mouse the list of skills to put skillpoints in the list of new skills (dark magic, epic weapons, etc...) I managed to get to the stargate only using the original grimrock 2 skills and a slight increase in the rest of the skills with the books of those skills I was finding and believe me, that was really hard :D When i discovered my mistake i wanted to die (of shame).

For some reason I got ALL the bugs of this mod in the version V204R (the weights of the Redwood Mines, the planetarium spheres, lighting core crash, bow of ix, battle droid in stargate, a major crash in the skycity prison xD), and at the same time I thought it was a great mod (just what I was looking for at that time), hence my interest in contacting bongobeat so that all this was fixed.

Soon there will be a new update fixing minor bugs, if you have any suggestions feel free to say it.

PSD: If you manage to change level, save, load and it doesn't hang again, don't forget to tell us. If you tell us what operating system, processor, ram memory and graphics card you have it would also be helpful (in case there is some "parallelism" in the crashes, e.g. have less than 16 gb RAM).

Yes it's Mount Khand, my bad ^^, but i said the "buff stone" (the one that buffs you with "rage"), maybe there is also a "healing stone"? ahahah ^^

The funny thing is that i tried many times in the same day, i didn't think to "reset the pc" and try again after the reset, because now there is no problem at all; maybe it was just a crash occurred on my pc that temporary erased some variables necessary for the game to run smootly. Well it's all ok now, so "problem solved"! ^^

I was meaning about combat in 204R version, when you start at 1 level with no skill at all but the starting ones: enemies on left and right of Hardabar castle simply wiped the floor with me ^^ but in 206R i just found it more easy, maybe Bongobeat nerfed them somehow?

Same for me ^^, we share the shame ahahah.
i decided to start all over again when playing 204R but, with a character of the four at level 20 of experience, with 1000 hp and about 200 armor, every single enemies nearly 1-hit killed me, and if i'm not dead i am at low hit point with bleeding condition... ^^' so i decided to see if something was wrong and found the new 206R version. In total i started it from beginning 3 times ^^

And, believe me, i found absolutely no bugs at all, neither in 204 nor in 206, apart from the problem i mentioned early but i think it's just a personal problem of my pc, not related to mod. I passed those puzzles with no problem at all.

ahahah @Bongobeat i have just one suggestion: make it compatible with the previous version save! ahahah ^^ i don't have the spirit to start all over again for the 4th time ^^. Apart from jokes i just said i found no bugs at all, maybe i was lucky but i think the mod has no problem.

Other users have had the same thing happen to them, getting rid of crashes by doing a clean install of Windows (because they have installations full of junk and all that), but I'm still dying of curiosity to know why exactly it happens, why Hardabar is “so sensitive”. I was lucky at Hardabar in terms of stability, load times (60 seconds on average), etc.... The things that some users say about crashes seem to me to be almost science fiction. It's not the same with me and the bugs, it seems to be "my destiny" to find them all.

The ‘power stone’ in mount khand also heals and revives deceased members of the group, just like a blue crystal.

Regarding the planetarium button: I didn't find it quickly either because knowing that the puzzle was going to be removed I was expecting the old button in the same place, I thought it had been a bongobeat's mistake that ‘he had forgotten to put the button when making the changes’, but then I thought ‘it can't be’ and I started to look for it more and I found it.
PSD: You will be happy to know that the little turtle you brought to Lemuria's hatchery has grown up a lot, she can swim very fast and is learning to talk!

Well i just found a weird thing i was not aware of...i don't know if it's the effect of a skill i purchased but...my wizard earn experience with a bonus of 250% ^^'

I don't know where it came from but i just noticed when he levelled up and stated that he is 2 levels higher then the rest of the party ^^'

Is it right or is it a bug? I also checked all the skills and the other three members have a xp boost because of the epic weapons level 5 effect (the wizard doesn't have this skill), so i really don't know where it comes from ^^

There is a necklace that gives +250% experience, "Jewel Symal", it's one of my favourite items, I used to put it on the alchemist to turn him into a mage and all types of firearms fast.
