Still Waters Run Deep - Act I
Posted: Sun May 03, 2015 2:15 am
Hello,
This was originally an unfinished mod I had for LoG 1.
I remade it in November 2014 for LoG 2 but then I had no more time to work on it.
So instead of just having it lying around I thought of posting it here so others can
enjoy it (albeit unfinished) and maybe find some nice ideas for their own mods.
Some of the help/support files and posts from AH was not made at that point, so
a few ideas were just a matter of trial and error. I can see that today there are much
more information available for the modders. Anyway...
It has been made for a level 1 party and should not take too long to finish (there is no proper ending either).
There was also an intro video for LoG 1 but since LoG 2 doesn't use the same system I haven't had time to make a proper video file for this one.
Some secrets may be hard while others not so much.
Note: I am much more into old school RPGs so firearms isn't used here, will be refunded if a character starts with it.
Starting equipment will be given according to class/skills.
Here's the text from the original intro video:
[Prelude]
Some say that somewhere in the northernmost mountain region of Cyyrladan lies
an ancient dungeon thought to contain an unfathomable amount of treasure.
"Magical weapons and armor, diamonds, crowns for kings and queens and more gold than you
can possibly spend in a dozen lifetimes. And supposedly the ancient Orb of Justice."
No wonder then, that for centuries this dungeon has attracted the attention and dedication
of adventurers from all over the Kingdom. Others say that it doesn't exist at all, that
it's just and old legend. Those knee-deep in conspiracy theories claim that it was built
to prove that greed conquers all.
Only one thing is certain - no one has ever returned to confirm or dismiss these claims.
[Present Day]
The year is 612 of the second era, the winter is on its way and you find yourself at
an inn called The Mad Hog in the fishing village of Lepoa. After spending decades
searching for the dungeon you accidentally cross paths with an old man named Kathorr.
You sit and talk with him the whole evening; about the bandits that plague the streets
and about the coming winter. There is a crowd there and they are pretty loud, especially
one of the minotaurs whom you just turned down after he wanted to arm-wrestle with you.
Kathorr smiles through his grey beard and lifts a hairy eyebrow, then he tells you that
he has an old map which supposedly leads to the fabled dungeon. He can't say where he
got it, nor if it's real, but he wants you to have it because he wants to prepare himself
for his final journey to the other side.
You travel for more than a month and finally you arrive near the Forest of Cyyrladan; tired, hungry and cold.
Destiny awaits.
