Unfortunately we don't have such option...

Hi, I just fired up the compat test and the FOV appears to be Vert- (i.e the horizontal Field of View is locked, so the wider the screen, the narrower the vertical FOV...) :geek:

It's a bit of a bummer to see less of the game world on a big ass wide screen than on a tiny 5:4 monitor...

...and as far as Eyefinity/Surround displays are concerned, it's a no-go. So much of the world is cut-off that it'd be like playing through a sniper scope.

So my question is, will we be able to edit the FOV (easily, and to high values) ?
Alternatively, will the vertical FOV be fixed in the release, as opposed to the horizontal one ?

Thanks for your time...

The screen looks fine when I view it on 1920x 1200. :?

Hmm I haven't ran the comp test when it was released.. but I hope it runs well on 1920x1200 ... Im not sure why the game is showing less in a higher resolution then a lower one .. I'm guessing it's because of the 4:3 versus 16:10 difference and scaling ...

Must admit those shots you posted scare me a little with so much of the ceiling cut off in higher resolutions ..

It does, I said so in the post above yours!

No idea what's up with those screenies but 1920x 1200 looks perfect. :)

I run 1920x1080 (That's the monitor's native resolution; and that's max res for my graphics card.)

* Does that mean that when I play, the screen might look like this?

It's looks like the issue Zstorm had is primarily with Eyefinity/Surround displays. (which is when you use multiple monitors for the game, ie have the game running on 3 monitors)

I'm sure Petri or one of the others will chirp in at some point.

The FOV is Vert-, which means ALL 16/9 resolutions will show a little less of the game world than any 16/10 resolution.

1920x1200 is similar to my 1680x1050 shot as far as the vertical FOV is concerned.

The question is not really what "looks fine", it's just that a fixed vertical FOV is generally a better solution. It gives a wider view on wider monitors, instead of "tunnel vision".
Those who remember Bioshock before/after the widescreen patch will know what I'm talking about...

I have to wonder how many games work fine at 5760x1080.. =)
Basically you'd need a 180' FOV for it to "look good"..

Actually, 140-ish is what you need at that res ;) but again, that's not the point. The point is, the vertical FOV shouldn't get lower on wider screens, it should remain the same on all displays.
