Fire elemental / disappearing throwing weapon connection?

I just saw this post over in the Steam forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251730/di ... 047842963/ The important bit is:

"Fire elementals (the flying bat guys that suicide-bomb you; not the ones from the Island Master boss fight) do not drop throwing weapons they have absorbed if you fail to kill them AKA if you do damage but they still reach you and suicide, those throwing weapons are gone."

This is obviously a bug that needs fixing if so, but it also leads me to wonder if their explode-deaths are causing other things to disappear; missile weapon ammo used against them would be an obvious candidate for the same reason as throwing weapons.

I have been fighting fire elementals with both arrows and bolts and I have recovered all of them afterwards. Sometimes they get displaced a bit though and you have to run over the same tiles twice.

When fire elementals die before they explode in your face they drop any ammo stuck inside them like any other monster.
If they don't your ammo is gone.

That's must be it. I try to kill them before they explode.

I gave up trying to kill them ages ago. I just cast Fire Shield and let them get on with it.

Ditto! I would literally reload the game to the latest Save Point if one of them kamikaze bastards died at their own hands instead of mine. I love da exp!
