Crystal of Life

I just started the game. I cannot get the first Crystal of Life to reset. I've played with 3 dead characters to the LVL 2 dungeon and it still has not reset. Is this normal? Grimrock 1 reset in about 15 mins game time. This has been a few hours game time.

A crystal recharge usually takes only a few minutes.
Did you by chance select "Single Crystal Use" upon game start? In case you did they'll never recharge.

They recharge slower if you are not on the same level.

I'm not positive, but I could have sworn that if I used the same crystal shortly after it reset it took longer to reset the next time. Could have just been my imagination because when you're waiting for a crystal to reset it can sometimes seem like more time is passing than really is.

I don't recall such. But I've watched this crystal for a couple hours now. I will start a new game.
