Mutation and Food (possible spoiler)

Post by sapientCrow »

How does mutation work? Does it roll a predetermined seed at character creation or does it always level the same stats each level gain?
I know it is impossible to save scum it. Just trying to understand its mechanics if anyone knows.

Same with food bonuses
If I eat 3, 4 and 5 pieces of food how does it roll the stat increase?
I also can not reload to get this to change.
Is it also already seeded or are specific races just set to raise specific attributes each x food eaten?

Seems to be random and predetermined as far as I can tell.

No matter how many times you load, you'd get the same bonus on both

The "mutation" seems to be done with the creation of the champ. Means, from the creation to every level up you will get the same stats. If you create a new champ, it will be random again

The food thing is a little bit different. It depends on race and what you give them to eat. So far worked:
SpoilerShow
insects = fruits
lizard = eggs
rats = cheese

Some write mino = meat, but perhaps I use the wrong one, or it doesn't work. In my opinion plants (mino as cows...) would do more sense, but couldn't tested yet

Minotaur should be hay. They have skulls though.

Humans should be blueberry pie or steak.

Also, lizards should get upset when you eat lizard on a stick.
... and rats when you eat rat shank

p.s. I loved how they put cheese in obviously dangerous places or just out of reach, on top of pit swords, boss rooms, other side of a pit room, etc.

I had two ratlings, wish I did three as mutation is an advantage.

thanks.
It seems like both of them are randomized predetermined seeds then.
Because when i feed them I get the same stats as well even if I reload.
I like the actual design because it is set and cant be forced to go one way or the other.

I wonder if boiled crag beetle and blueberry have a bonus for someone.
Between food bonus and mutation Ratling is an awesome champion. Feels like even better than Barbarian with the steady +str each level.

I wrote nothing else. The stats seems to be random when you CREAT the rat, not with any levelup. I tested it with two rats
