I have tried everything imaginable to get past the teleporter in level 2, and have been totally unsuccessful. I click the button and run backward and get to the teleporter just as it starts up which throws me back out. I have tried clicking then running, I have tried doing them almost simultaneous so I click and start running before the switch clicks in, I have changed resolution all the way down to 1024x768, I have gone from full screen to windowed to borderless, and nothing will work. I even read where one player finally got through when his torch burned out, so I removed my torch to no avail.

Actually, it appeaers I do get through but still get thrown back. The teleporter is the second square from the switch and I'm actually moving into the third square when it comes back on. But I'm not far enough to escape it. In desperation I loaded it on my desktop which is a less powerful computer than my HP G72 laptop, and it worked. I can't play on the desktop, however, as the game will crash the graphics. Go figure.

It is very frustrating and shouldn't be that time sensitive. There has got to be a fix.

You know what I struggled with this to, eventually I did manage, it's a timing issue. Try moving backwards almost simultaneously with pressing the button. Also you can just hold the move backwards key down. But yeah a fraction more time for this would be nice.

I could only solve this by moving backwards as well. Trying to rotate and move forward never worked, the teleporter would always be back.

Yes the puzzle is designed so that you have to move backwards, but for many of us it was difficult even so.

Well, I spent whole day trying to go backwards into the teleporter at the right time - with no luck. This is a stopper for me - I can't continue.

I've got fairly slow laptop (Toshiba Tecra M9 with nVidia Quadro NVS 130M. Up to this point the game worked well, but it definitely seems the timeout is too fast for my PC. Can it be somehow modified?

if you pm the save file i could pass that for you if you are definitely sure it's a hardware sync fault.

Also very hard with AMD 780G Chipset with ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics. Small window with lowest graphics and hitting very fast 'S' it went fast enough.

Thanks! I've managed to get to the faster computer and went through the teleport under two minutes. So looks like this is a stopper bug if game cannot be passed on slower computers - the timing could possibly also be problem in the future on very fast computers. Timing puzzles should not be affected by computer or visualisation speed.

I should also note I'm running the game under Wine 1.4 in Ubuntu Linux (10.04).

This is still an issue. But one other thing to check is to make sure that no one in your party is overburdened. I was about to give up on the game because of this puzzle. I was able to get through it by switching my graphics way down and immediately running backwards as I hit the button. Only afterwards did I notice that one of my dudes had a little snail next to his picture. I rearranged some gear and tried it again at full settings and voila! No problem. :/
