I am so stupid...how do you get out of the abyss? i kinda fell in >_>

If you mean the 3 story part, where there are stairs connecting the top two layer, but if you fall to the bottom there are no stairs back up but there is a crystal down there:
There is a switch in the middle, on the right side of the middle I think.

also down there is the meteor forge IIRC.
and a powergem.
and some other stuff.
...and a literal fuckton of spiders, especially AFTER you grab the powergem and try to leave the cave it was in.
