I'm at the 6 altars in Tomb of Offering. Placing items on the altars does nothing. I feel like I must have missed a clue somewhere and the tips above don't help... Help!

The three altars beside the pits kinda activate/deactivate their pit-row while the other three altars do toggle "their" pit-row.

The thing is, that the trapdoors switch in ther is something on the vertical and horizontal line.

So, if the middle horizonztal line of trapdoors is open, put one thing in the altar in the altar middle bottom and other things in all the altars on the left then all 3 will be closed :)
