OK, so I have completely cleared the forest, bog, cemetery, river, island, sewers, archives, and pyramid/desert.

what should be the next area to tackle?

crystal mines?

if so, how do i get there? all i got was a cryptic message saying "be like the snail" from one of the heads.

When moving across the pressure plates to the Crystal Mine entrance, wait a good while after each step before taking another. Moving very slowly. Like a snail. 5 seconds per step worked for me. When you reach the gate, it opens. If you're too fast, the heads spit poison on you.
