Stuck in ruins of Desarune

Hey guys,

I can't seem to figure how to progress in the ruins of Desarune dungeon.

I made it to the blue light crystal with the pit near it, but I cannot close that pit or open the door in the room with the caged spider. I did everything in the floor below (even got the secret there), got the caged spider to drop on the middle pressure plate below, but that didn't help.

Do I have to come back with some special item or what?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have the spider not be in the middle switch. Then turn around to the 5 switches in the back and screen shot it. Then put the spider onto the middle switch and look back to the 5 switches behind you and screenshot again. Compare the two, you'll notice something changed...

I found the secret there first. Didn't realize the door was connected to the same puzzle, solved in pretty similar way, but just needed the spider to be moved... caused me to wander for more than an hour. x.x

Any further advice? I've tried having the spider in all 3 positions with weights on all the plates and still no progress on the door. Got the Secret easily, but the door remains stubbornly closed.

I'm stumped that the Secret appears to be easier than opening the door, so it must be something simple that I'm missing.

Edit: Nevermind, I got it. Went back down just as my torch went out, and that was...enlightening!

ok any further help here? Im not sure why this one has me stumped. I cant seem to get the door open.

Could someone please spell it out for me? I just don't get it. Here is what I did so far:

I found the 'Follow the light' scroll, put the spider onto the pressure plate and put stones on the three illuminated switches. Yay, a secret. I've noticed that only two of the switches light up while I stand on the 'teleporter switch', but putting stones on these doesn't open the door. So, how do I get it to open?

Problem for me was that on lower graphic settings you don't see the lights. Putting the graphics on max solved it.

for me its not an issue of seeing which light is on or off. I got the secret opened. I'm just not able to figure out which plates need weight in order to open the door. I've never had this much trouble with a puzzle and for some reason this one is just got me running in circles.

edit: I solved it, I don't know if this is a bug or intended, but you cannot solve the puzzle if you do not open the door to the puzzle room in the hallway leading to the crystal first.

Complete solution:

1. Open the door to the puzzle room in the hallway leading to the crystal.
2. Drop down and teleport the spider to the upper level by pressing the switch.
3. Wait for the spider to move to the middle trap door and then drop it.
4. Drop rocks or whatever through the 1st, 2nd, and 4th grates/trap doors.
5. Go back down and get the secret. When you return to the upper level both doors should be open.

that explains my confusion. I was assuming the combination to open the door was different than the secret. Apparently i need to get some sleep. thanks all.
