Hi,

my Lizardman Knight is wearing an Ancient Shield, which gives +5 to Evasion (going up from 7 to 12)
Shouldn't the shield give a doubled evasion bonus (10 in that case)?

50% is not 100%. So you get half the ev from the gear in addition.

yes, you are right.
It should give 7 or 8 (7.5), but actually it gives 5 Evasion without any bonus.

Oh you are right. Its a Bug I guess, my ev goes from 2 to 7 with the +5 shield.

My lizardman Knight also has this problem. I have tryed with the shield in both hands and also with the Buckler item allthough it seems to go in the ring slot not the off hand.

Buckler is not actually a shield it seems.

But I have tried the Ancient Shield on my Rattling Knight and only get the base +5 not the +7 it should be giving him.

So far I've tried four different types of shields and none of them gave any bonus evasion for my knight.

Now it's a known bug and will make it into the first patch

Wait so the buckler counts as a ring? Surely that must be a bug lol

Those slots are not ring slots, they are bracer slots, for your wrists. There are no rings in Grimrock. So the buckler, being a very small shield, makes sense that it could go on your wrist
