The game is number 1 seller on gog and steam, and according to the steam stats, over 5k are playing atm. that is a pretty good success for an indie game

For Steam's player tracking, follow this link. You'll have to click "View all of the top 100 most-played games" to view the current and peak number of players today for Legend of Grimrock. As for GOG, I don't believe they have player tracking.
