Well, canonically he died in the first dungeon...

... but could have been rescued by the party that solved the mystery.

Hence, it IS possible that he's out there somewhere!

The game flag that Toorum's remains have been used on a crystal of life is: Toorum lives

I guess that says it all.

Alex: How much of a spoiler do you want? If you haven't finished the first dungeon but still plan to do so, you might want to wait and see.

Hi! Coincidentally Antti and I made a new game featuring Toorum recently. Well, not exactly a new game but a port of a Grimrock mod, Toorum's Quest II for my self made game console :)

Check it out!

There's also a technical write up if you're interested in this sort of thing:

Heh, that's awesome @Petri. I have been tempted to get an Arduino for some time now... If I find the time, I will have a stab at building 'The Box' on a breadboard (even if the video output will suffer slightly) and attempt to beat Toorum's Quest 2! Haha

Not Spam (I think). But Frys.com is having a sale this weekend that includes a number of pieces of arduino stuff. I'm not sure if they ship outside the USA, but generally they have fair prices.

Hell yeah! Arduinos are a lot of fun. Totally recommended! If you need any help to get started, just ask :)

I'm already planning a new project but I don't think I have time before christmas holidays to start working on it.
