STUCK Pillars of Light (lvl 3)

so I had the dream sequence and I read the hint more than a dozen times and still can't figure out what to do to open the first door... I suspect it has something to do with the torches but everything I tried so far failed...

make sure is no lights (torches on the walls) except on the pillar in center of room

I guess my game is bunged already, as i have done this and every other possible light configuration, including adding torches to each rack with no luck. In addition, i did not have any "dream sequence", so i am not sure if that is related.

I had to

backtrack and pick up some extra torches and then place 1 around each side of the pillar, so 3 torches total to get the door to open

yep, you need 3 torches placed on the brick pillar from the center of the room

In the first room of that level you used torches to open a door.

Now, there's a second room on that level that looks just like the first room. Maybe playing with torches in that second room helps...
