System error: d3dx9_43.dll missing (with GOG install)

So the game will not run. I reinstalled, and still had the same problem.

Looks like DirectX hasn't been properly installed. Did you perhaps skip installation of DirectX in the installer?

Do a full installation of the June 2010 version (latest) of DirectX 9.0c, available here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... en&id=8109 (Microsoft link)

I just ran the installed, and did not change anything.

Ok, weird. Could you try installing the latest DirectX version from Microsoft:

I was getting that same error with the GOG install, but in WINE. So, naturally I was assuming it was due to something I wasn't doing right in WINE, not the installer. I was able to get it to install on a windows machine at work to test but I did have to download DX9 from the MS site.

I get the same error on a Vista machine, which has DirectX 11. I can't downgrade to DirectX 9, as far as I know.
