Steam is failing us pre-order people hardcore. They've even taken to banning people for talking about the problem in their forums. This has completely shot my confidence in those crooks. Maybe you guys can sort it out?

Actually nobody paid Steam yet as far as I understand. All payments were handled through Humble Bundle and Almost Human. People who bought the game through steam just now when it became available paid steam. Pre-order users are enjoying a free steam key that is part of a service that Steam provides to developers that are authorized to distribute over the Steam network. The stand alone download that was paid for is working great and the free Steam key should be working sooner or later.

If its a life or death issue to play right now, use the stand alone downloader and start playing. If for whatever reason Steam achievements are important to you then I guess you'll have to wait patiently but the Steam key is a nice free bonus that came with the preorder from Almost Human so nobody has gotten screwed out of anything yet as far as I can see.

Actually, Valve charges money for the keys they generated to give to the Humble Bundle people. Yes. Steam has been "paid". Now stop kissing corporate ass and realize that people are complaining about a legitimate problem.

Darkling, I just wanted to say that although you have valid points, your abrasive demeanor is taking away from your argument. This forum is a bunch of fellow gamers, many of which are in the same boat you are waiting for the Steam issue to get sorted out. Telling everyone who replies to you to fuck off only belittles yourself.

The people who can get these problems fixed are off working on fixing them, not reading the forums and no one reading the forums has the power to go flip the switches on Steam to turn on those downloads. Just take a few deep breaths, it will all be ok.

Valve says that they know what the problem is with preorders and it should be fixed in the next 5 minutes.

I'm pretty sure I remember one of the devs saying that the steam key with the humble bundle stand alone download was free to them and that if you ordered direct from them they got the most profits the only cut going to humble bundle for payment processing. I don't have time to scour the whole forum for the post but that was my understanding. Either way I've got my game and am grateful as opposed to hateful.
