We have the awesome privilege of having a professional modeler among us, wallasaurus! He's asked to know which monsters/items we really want the most, hence this poll.
EVERYONE, please choose three categories of custom monsters that you most want to see developed into Grimrock. You can come back and adjust your choices if you change your mind later.
PICK THREE!

I really hope you'll make new creatures. That's something you need a pro modeler for, especially if you want to make new bone rigs and animations to go with it. So please don't waste your time on tables and clubs! Personally I'd be happy about any new creature, but if I had to choose I would like to see humanoids first, but animals and 'freaky' monster options sound nice as well. Steampunk is too special for my taste, the prison tileset is the tileset I like least and it wouldn't really fit into any other tileset.

There are several on that list that I plan to make. I picked the freaky, the mechanical, and the humanoids.
I'm working on the kobold myself at the moment; (it's the EoB design, though I might make one a bit less cartoony later on).

I think that a professionals time would be best used for characters with animation.
we the dabblers should be able to make static objects like chests, chairs , beds, wells and so on.

Have placed my vote(s). My gut instinct is anything monster like really - with enough time and a bit of luck, many of us could make a table or sword (granted, it might only be 70% as good as yours but they are relatively straightforward geometric constructs). However, it would take me an age to make an animated monster - and I can guarantee that it would end up not being even 10% as good as you could probably make even after weeks of learning.
The best I could hope for is I start off trying to make a war dog and end up with something that looks a bit like a displacer beast crossed with a chicken...

A profesional should clearly aim at adding models and animations that other modder couldn't achieve to make easily.
Static models, props, and even simple animated models such as floor plates, buttons and levers can be added by less exeperienced modder.
So monsters and creatures for me.
My personnal choice would be Humanoid first, then Beast and Animals and last Freaky Monsters.

That kobold is looking really good! Not cartoony to me (except the red dress) It has a look that will fit well in the Grimrock world. Part fairy-tale/part creepy.

It's still at the beginning; I'm just trying to get it in-game... the texture and mesh will be getting some more work on them before it's done, (but it won't lose the look of it).

I do agree, the choice should (usually) be animated creature creation; or complex props.
