Hey guys, was playing some dungeons and I thought to myself, couldn't I use the GMT to apply the iron door texture to an upward sliding door for those times where it's impossible to put them into a hallway?
Yes. Yes I can!
I thought about Cromcrom's The Lost Continent as I was making this.
You can make it suitable for the temple by changing the doorframemodel string to
doorFrameModel = "assets/models/env/temple_door_frame.fbx", Make sure you don't use the wide doorframes, because it will clip with pull chains.
I really like the idea of having the option to make these open vertically like that, nice! But I need to append my video notes on that part, because you don't have to put the side sliding ones in a hallway - just one side of them has to be a hallway, and you turn around the door to be facing that side.
But if you want it to be just along a wide room on both sides, then your solution is the only way (unless someone models a very thin door that can completely fit inside the walls)

I think next I'm going to work on wooden doors that slide into the wall next, for flavor sake.
You raise a very good idea.
I think, however I might only be able to do a wall that opens like a sliding door, however. (without getting into animation)
EDIT: I have successfully made a door that slides into the walls like the iron door does.
I would like to see doors that sink into the floor.
