Level 3 Spiders

Having some serious issues with massive amounts of spiders raping me at every corner. Even if I manage to survive a bout I can't heal as a random spider eventually shows up and kills me. I've leveled up thoroughly thus far and even close doors/gates when healing to negate any encounters. This is making the experience quite annoying right now and I'm at THAT point where I've thought of just quitting for good.
Any suggestions? I'm playing on normal, so this is slightly embarrassing.

Hmm....
1. What is your party? Basic 2 fighters, rogue and mage? or something different?
2. Note that the green spider eggs laying around. If you destroy even ONE of those, EVERY spider in the area will come straight for you!
3. There is a room farther in near the end of the spiders that is 2x2 room that is a dead end, but you can close the door to it and use it for the door trick and to rest.
4. Potions. Potions and Antidotes! While Antidotes are nice to use right when poisoned. Don't! Use it only if you have to heal your HP with a potion. You can easily rest and sleep the poison off, cause you regen hp faster than it takes it away.
5. Food! have lots and lots of food, cause resting makes time go by faster so your food bar drains faster too. Minotaur's food bars drain 25% faster than the other races, needing food more often while the Insect's Food bar drains 25% slower so not as much.
That is all I can think of. Floor 3... Hmm... This low, I think your mage is going to be your heavy hitter for now, till your other classes get higher points in their weapon skill and better weapons. If you have a magic, and it has Ice magic, the Ice Ball spell is awesome! it can sometimes freeze enemies, making it easier to get a few free hits. Then back away and freezing them again.

Hi.
Jiro: I cannot add anything to your comments. They nail it ...
But two questions keep me busy, Cry0:
What "challenge mode" do you play in? Easy, normal or hard?
And how do you fight? Toe to toe, or do you use the space of rooms in order to "dance around" your enemies?
The first time I met the spiders on "hard" I really had some trouble dealing with them, which is why I re-learned and re-got to use the dance-battle-technic ... Things became a lot better.
All the best!

You could start over on a lower difficulty. Floor 3 isn't very deep.

Wow! Thanks for all the help guys. And yes my party is the standard one. I did not know that about the spider eggs. And the door trick works if I'm in a completely closed off room, but if I'm in a corridor I almost always get attacked while resting.
This makes me wonder, are encounters random at times or are they all scripted? If they're scripted maybe I need to look deep and clear out all the enemies before heading to the doors with multiple spiders in them. I've been using the ice floor spike spell and it works decent (best I have).
Also, I try to dance around at times but when there are two or more spiders I'm screwed either way, ha. You sure don't get a sizable level up advantage in this game.

Hi.
With the exception of four particular levels or conditions the number of monsters is fix -
in level 6 (snails, skeletons, giant crabs and Uurgadians), level 9 (ice lizards), final boss-fight (all kinds of creatures) and (I think) lvl 11 in one of the pit-rooms a single giant spider- not sure about the last one
. So for most of the levels you will encounter only a scripted number of specifically scripted monsters.
All the best!

Indeed. Except for a few rare area's with respawning monsters, all the normal monsters spawn in the same spot. Tho of course move around too. If you watched the preview video of the Dungeon Editor that is coming out, it shows how monsters are spawned. They didn't have a script or anything, you just placed them and they were there until killed and didn't respawn. You can give them a script, but normally, they don't have one.

Thanks again for all the info. I was able to make it to level 4, which is a whole new challenge...

There was an area earlier in the game where they spawned continuously. I think it was level 4, but I'm not sure. It was the one with the scrolls.
