Is a weapon with Speed 15 faster than a weapon with Speed 10?

Can't remember, but I suspect you can easily find out by attacking with one and counting the seconds until your guy recovers, then repeat with a weapon of different speed.

The higher the attack speed, the faster you hit

Somewhat related: there is no speed listed for unarmed attacks, but I'd guess it's around 20. Attack speed matters a lot, so when you're comparing weapons it's important to keep in mind that a point in attack speed makes a bigger difference than a point in attack power or anything else. The damage output of various weapons is proportional to attack strength multiplied by weapon speed, so if you have a choice between 50 attack power at weapon speed 10 and 40 attack power at weapon speed 15, the 40 attack power is going to do a lot more damage in a sustained engagement even though the 50 attack power is going to hit a little harder up front.

The math works out with that, but in an environment where you are frequently "strafing," you are basically hitting and running, and then hitting again when your weapon cooldown is over. So that diminishes the importance of attack speed.

Characters with low attack speed also tend to get less XP. If they miss their only attack against a weak enemy they get half.

Ah good point. .. Or miss ALL their attacks against a strong enemy - hehe. "My mace is defective! Guys, I swear!" :D

If you happen to forget in game just use logic.... a dagger will be faster than a mace right?

Look at the two and you'll figure it out.

I'm going to try out an empty-handed run for my front ranks. If the speed is really that high, I should think stunlocking would be a viable strategy from the outset. Would greatly reduce the need for strafing, which would be a welcome change.
