Doesn't add to much of a challenge...you might miss a pit when backing up against a mob though lol. I just like the visuals more of the wall torches.

Also no other light like spells or glowing orbs.

as i matter of fact, i quickly stopped using torches.
you can easily play without, and there is no dificulty at all, the 'hiddens' switch are still visible, and you still can use the map (2 things that should be impossible without light)
in fact, the only moment where you don't see is when a torch goes dark, during a few seconds, you won't see
but after that it's ok.

Play old school without the map as well.
