Hi,just registered here but been lurking for a while
May as well mention a few things here: I remember the days of DM first on my ATari STFM and then my Commodore Amiga and I've always been a fan of RPG's firstly PnP and then on computer with possibly my first "rpg" game being Lords of Midnight on the ZX Spectrum....so now I've aged myself you may as well know that I'm 47 and still loving games.
I'm especially loving LoG just now even though it can get frustrating at times but overcoming obstacles are what makes the challenges rewarding
I'm currently on lvl 6 or 7 (halls of fire) and I'm a bit concerned that my rogue who sits in the back row shooting flaming arrows,is gaining xp much more slowly than the rest of the party.
I even gave him the amulet which gives extra xp and still he's not gaining as fast as the other members.
I checked xp gains before I found the xp amulet whilst killing skeletons who gave 90 xp each and everyone seemed to be gaining that amount but when I levelled up most of my characters went up to lvl 9 relatively close together but the lizard rogue still needed over 2k xp to level.
Does anyone know if I'm missing something obvious? I wondered if it was due to him doing less attacks than other members so I made him my main attacker for a while but nothing changed. Is there an xp penalty I failed to read about for lizards/rogues?
Any insight would be great thanks.
Lizard rogue gains less xp?
Re: Lizard rogue gains less xp?
In fact, when you kill a mob, only the members of your party that hit it gain the full XP reward.
Others gain only 50%. That works for every characters, not only rogues.
hope it can helps.

Re: Lizard rogue gains less xp?
Thanks for that Crashone,I was wondering if that was the case.
This kind of answers another question I was pondering, namely, would having a party of only 1 character be viable? I used to play with a barbarian as my sole character in DM and he'd gain all the xp intended to be shared with the party and he could learn spells whilst also being a melee character.Doing this was hard to start a new game but made him a lean mean killing machine, kind of a Swiss army knife of DM by mid to late levels.
I'm guessing that won't be a possibility in LoG though as the xp isn't shared and split amongst the group if I understand the way xp gain works....or am I thinking incorrectly?

for one thing, your solo character will never have access to the other classes' skills, no matter how much xp he gains...Germ wrote:Thanks for that Crashone,I was wondering if that was the case.

the sad thing about LoG is that you don't need any skills other than Armor and Swords.
seriously.

People have done it.
Basically speaking you wont have a super strong character, but you can complete the game..
Re: Lizard rogue gains less xp?
No, you're right as to how XP works. If you have just one character, you still get only 90xp for a skeleton. That said, people have beaten the game solo.Germ wrote:Thanks for that Crashone,I was wondering if that was the case.
