I was wondering if it would be possible to have such a version/patch... my pc is more than enough to play the game all out, but i would love to be able to install the game and run it on my eeepc netbook...

grimrock on the road or while travelling would ROCK!

i think it would just need the grafics to be toned down or there's some other problems to such a version?

It sounds like you're after a Dungeon Master or Chaos Strikes Back remake such as the versions here: http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=view/Clones

I've played a lot of "Return to Chaos" and it's great for a Netbook: http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/801

There's something about the look of "Escape from Dragon Mountain" and the name of one of the developers, Petri Häkkinen, that rings a distant bell... http://dmweb.free.fr/?q=node/822 ;)

i want grimrock!

I mean i think that with less "graphic effects", filtering and AA it would run on almost everything... or i'm wrong and the heavyness is on the program itself?

From what I've seen, this game is CPU-intensive and barely utilizes the GPU at all. Therefore, correct me if I'm wrong, the "heaviness" is in the coding of the game and we're pretty much stuck with it.

I could be completely wrong though!

From my experience with a low specs Macbook, the teleporters animation seems to eat up quite a lot processing power. Whenever I came near one, the speed dropped. So simplifying animations for torches and teleporters (and probably any other "particle"-animation) might allow for even lower hardware requirements.

I haven't tried running it on my netbook yet, but I think it might be possible if you override some graphical settings with a utility like the Nvidia Control Panel. Just remember to keep V-Sync ON, or it will fry your netbook.
Please tell us your results if you plan on doing this.
