Old School Mapping.

I just started a new party, on hardcore. (hard difficulty and Old School mapping)... barely got to the first bronze key lock when i realized... Im out of mapping space!.
Im using one of those fairy odd parents "Math notebooks" you know, the ones with a grid instead of lines...
I was wondering, what do you guys use, if you have enough room for mapping, and what symbols and other methods you use.
any tips?

First rule of old school mapping: No matter where you put the starting point, you will always run out of space to draw your map
Second rule of old school mapping: If you redraw the map, first rule will apply again later
Third rule of old school mapping: When you encounter a teleporter which leads you to a new area, be sure that first rule will apply in less than 5 minutes
When I'm running out of space, I usually continue the drawing at the opposite side of the paper or I just take another piece of paper and continue drawing on it (with references to know how to link all the pieces of map when re-drawing the final version).
The worst map I had to draw was definitely the level 4, because there's a lot of teleporters so you have to start new areas, then you discover they are linked to each other, and so on ... I think i'll scan and post my map sketches to show you how 'messy' they are

lol, oh man... then im screwed no matter what i try to do... It wouldnt be so bad, if i didnt had this fixation on having everything so cleanly, nicely, tightly and tidily portrayed

I have it too, that's why I redraw a clean version of the map when I finish a level.

Did you preorder? I imagine printing out some copies of the blank map paper in there would be useful.

Hint: you got all the preoder stuff in your steam directory:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\legend of grimrock\
extras
There you will find the map paper for printing

wow! would you look at that!... i never knew i had all that there! thanks!
being the "official" Grimrock mapping paper, i'd like to think all levels fit... I only wish they would had made it more printer friendly, as i have a shoddy black & white laser printer

Yes they all fit, but don't waste it on you 'first draw' because first rule will apply anyway

Just finished on hard/oldschool difficulty, had papers ready for mapping, but they remained blank
The dungeon is quite straightforward, you can't go astray...
