The opening music...

So is it just me or is the opening music like a jolt of pure awesome covered in rad sauce with a extra side of amazing?

I have spent the last 3 hours just chilling and reading forum posts and what not after beating LoG for the first time. And this whole time I have had the opening title on looped repeat. 3 minutes and 47 seconds of pure music bliss that repeats over and over.

I remember, back when I loaded up the game for the first time, being struck with how much I loved the opening title music, and how sad I was there was no more during actual gameplay (then, about 5 minutes later, as I was running from snails while screaming at the top of my lungs, I realized that in-game music would have been a REALLY bad idea).

And every time I would launch the game after that, I would always feel a little pang of regret as I clicked the "load a game" button, banishing the music back to my hard drive.

So yeah, extra super mega kudos on the opening title music.

Sincerely,
A (newly) loyal fan

P.S. The rest of the game was pretty kick ass too....

P.P.S. I would TOTALLY pay for a "Music Inspired by the Opening Title to Legend of Grimrock" soundtrack...just sayin'...

Just checking, in case you didn't know (hard to tell if you're referring to playing the MP3, or just letting the game sit at the main menu):

If you bought it the game via GOG.com, one of the downloadable extras is the main theme soundtrack MP3.

If you've got the Steam version installed, there's an "extras" folder under the main game folder that contains it.

If you've installed the version direct from AH, I haven't heard where/what is done with it, but believe you still get the MP3 somewhere along the line.

And a dash of Epic.

Not only is it a good song, is compliments the mood for the game perfectly.

The main theme is great, after watching the trailer for the first time I kept playing it in my head for hours. Then when you start the game for the first time and the full theme music starts playing you realize you are about to play a masterpiece. I agree with the OP, while the game doesnt need any more music, I'd still love to have some more.

It's cool. Hadn't thought of looking for mp3 files in the Steam folders.

Oh yeah, I found the mp3 file of the opening title song. And played it on repeat for hours while doing work and what not on my computer. I would just like more works, of a similar type, from the same composer. You know, like how movies do it sometimes (generally when they are hungry to cash in on a very popular title). They have the offical sound track, and then they have a soundtrack of music "inspired" by whatever. A second set of tracks that are unrelated to the original product (didn't appear in the movie or game or whatever), but are similar sounding and from the same/similar artists. So yeah...more music like this...cause...well...it's just awesome.
