Please patch the Exp System

I like the (simple) skill-System and i like the fact, that the characters are far away from maxin' more then one Skill-Tree.

How does a character get Exp-Points? By doin' at least 1 damage to a single enemy unit. No damage = no Exp.
LoG is a PARTY-game, so every character has its own role to support the PARTY to survive.

I'd like to see, as long as the PARTY-members are alive, they get the same amount of Exp-Points from every encounter, no matter if they do damage or not (may be give a bonus for criticla hits (as it is actually))
Esp. a "Tank" is not playable actually. A mage, who casts shields permanently neither, 'coz he has to cast damage spells (and wastes his energy).

Edit:
That all come down to the idea, what the game wants to be. A pure Hack'nSlay, with possible Solo-Character walkthroughs (then it's not mine) or more an old-schooled(*1) rpg game, where a group of characters wants to reveal the secrets of a dungeon (and survive), where i dont have to rotate member positions, to get the full exp-value (then it's mine: where is the next dungeon).
(*1) like Eye-of-Beholder and Lands-of-Lore

Thats how it works..... In simpler terms since your a little bit crazy, everyone is NEEDED to kill a monster quickly without death or serious injury, so of course those who help kill the monster get EXP. It isn't based off of damage, from what I understand, its based off of if you contributed to kill the monster, and if you die during the fight then you receive none. If a party member is standing about then they will not receive participation experience, simple as that.

Simpy contributing to the fight nets you experience points, its not based off of damage as it is helping kill a monster. Remember, your a team, you wouldn't let your buddy kill off all the dudes in a room by himself, would ya'?

There is a really good post about how the exp system works. The guy that does no damage does get exp but it is half what the rest get. Also its not by character but by slot. So if you move guys around the slots that did damage get full Exp. One really simple work around you can do now with no patching needed... Have your mage carry a few rocks.

Are you sure thats how it works? Because all of my characters hit on every fight and while my 2 fighters and my rogue just leveled to 7 my mage is half her way to 8, and im suspecting its because of the area of effect spells that hit many monsters at once like the fireburst on skeletons stacks.

If you fight a group of monsters that occupy single tile, say, 4 Skeleton Warriors, you have to make sure that your characters hit all 4 Skeleton Warriors otherwise you will not get full EXP. Mage class is easier to level up because magic spell will hit every monsters in a tile.

Of Course i'd let do him the job, if im there to cure him or shield him, just simple support. And of course, these supportes does a got job, they are as essential for a PARTY as the damage dealer and so they deserve experience too. Because at these days there are so less pen&paper rpg players left (that were nice times, when ur status doesnt count on how many kills a character had on his belt), I'd like to compare this strategic elements with a party-game like WoW.

By the way, circling charaters should be a way to bring a wounded member out of line quickly.

Since the lag of some party members should rarely be more than 5% and the exp-requirements go up steeply, all party members will end up the same level, while some will be there five minutes earlier and some later. Besides, one level more or less does not really make that big a difference, does it?

The flag being on the slot, not the character is a strange design choice.

You don't consider casting light so everyone can see, and protective spells as participation? Also, conserving power to unleash it when you need it is tactic, not standing idly by and not caring.
