(Reposted from the SPUF)

So, when the level editor comes out, I'm going to take it upon myself and a couple of friends to recreate the 1995 Interplay game, Stonekeep, into Legend of Grimrock.

Stonekeep information : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonekeep

EDIT:

Good news everyone! The dungeon editor is released formally!

This also means that Legend of GrimKeep can begin development! I am looking for lua coders, possibly modellers, testers, etc. Add me on Steam, and let me know what you can do!

It will a lot of hard work but I think the first few levels could be replicated easily. Count me in when the editor comes out :)

Ah, but that wouldn't be true to the game!

If you could succeed, even only doing the first levels, it will be awsome.
of course, you will have some impossibilites (the water in the sewer for example... and even if you can 'script' the dragon enigma (it's juste a two key enigma after all), i fear that you won't be able to display the actual dragon)

the other issue is that even if the games is almost 20 years old, neither you or 'almost humain' won't be able to gain one cent with it, at least not officially, despite the amount of time you will work on this.

I don't want to say i will help you, i mean, i wanted to do this, i loved stonekeep, and i wanted to to use this game as support for modding. but i know my timetable and application, and i fear that i will never have the implication level to do this...

but hey, may be i will find the motivation, either case, i will follow this.

The amount of interest I have found from the fans of the game is enough motivation for me.

I still have the original cd myself, I never did manage to finish it. Would love to see this redone using the Grimrock engine, it was a classic game as I am finding Grimrock itself to be :)
