Grimrock

At level 10 after I picked up Red Gem and went through the closing gate at south(directly south from Red Gem), I got now stuck inside the small room.
On the screenshot (hope that link works), doors circled red are closed and I can not find any way to get out. What I missed?
I couldnt find any help from walkthroughs or anywhere.

How the hell did you manage to close both gates with you on this side?

Sorry but you're screwed, there's no way out

First when I picked up the red gem, i saw the gate south from the gem closing, so I though I have to get inside quickly. managed to get there after I got the gem, now same happened with the red circled door (southern one), i pulled the lever and moved quickly inside.

There is no way out?? My autosave is at lvl 7

You're not supposed to get in the gate without the gem being in the socket thing. You've found a bug, but sadly I think you're stuck there.

I know this suggestion is to late to help here but it's best to save often and use several different slots, it can help if something goes buggy or you just want to back track for one reason or another.

I just have to be more careful in the future and make backup saves often.
I hope they fix bugs like this in the future patches.

Well I just start it all over from level 1 then, I wanted to try out new party anyway

Sure you have autosave from using blue stone.

Sigh... I think I have a similar bug. In the same area. I have access to the stairs up, the pressure plate near the statue, a red gem, and no keys. I got a key and put it in a slot, which exposed those flying wasps. Now I can't get anywhere and can't accomplish anything a walkthrough says to do. Thought maybe the wasps dropped another key but nope, nothing.

I know this is a year old thread but I think I just hit the same bug as you with latest version of grim rock still !

I am in the room with the statues, but when I put something on the pressure plate it clicks but the gate doesn't open ?!

I have been in that room since I have the red gem but I think I didn't get the key and somehow managed to close that gate again, now it won't open and my last save is like 3 hours ago ! I did the whole Dismantler quest since I got the red gem !

Is there a way to use the console to force open the gate or to noclip through it ?

No you did not hit the same problem, you are in a different same room.

- You got the red gem
- You can't re-open a gate

Seems like a connection to me, right? Perhaps the red gem belongs somewhere so the gate can be opened?
