Is there any chance, that when the modding tools will be released, the mods will be distributed through
Steam Workshop? It's a very easy solution for both devs and players, especially for those who use Steam a lot (like myself).
Of course, there should be other mod distribution channels for those who don't use Steam, like the way Skyrim does.

That will only work for "Steamworks" based games, which skyrim and tf2 are.

I second this as long as its possible to do with this game, seriously have doubts that you wouldn't be able to do such things. I don't care what the guy above me said. lol

Doing this probably wouldn't be productive since LoG isn't a steamworks game and doesn't even come with a Steam registration key if you buy it from GoG.

I don't know if LoG is actually allowed to use Steam Workshop. However, seeing there are many games that were not originally Steamworks games but later modified to work with Steamworks features, such as Steam Cloud, I think the possibility is there.
AH should ask Valve about using Steam Workshop. It would be super convenient for gamers to install mods, adds more value to the game, and encourages more people to support the game legally.

Considering there's a non-Steam DRM free version of the game that wouldn't be compatible with Steam Workshop, I don't think this is a good idea or that it will ever happen.

Can't be Steam Workshop mod compatible as standalone mods? There is a good rogelike game which plans modding as Steam Works as standalone, as I read on their forums (Dungeons of Dredmor)

Steam burns me.

That would mean working on two different version of the game one that'd be for steam and other that would not...
Honestly, I prefer they put all their ressources in expansion and modding capability than in the way to distribute mods...
Also, while I don't hate steam workshop, I prefer to apply mod the old way or with a good mod manager...
