Use the Grimrock engine for a revival of the old classics

Hey guys,
so far I love this game and I really like it that developer get rewarded for their hard work. At least we'll see some good games now instead of the casualized boring stuff from the major companies. I stopped playing the D3 beta the moment LoG arrived because it's so much better.
Now... I was thinking about all the glorious first-person RPGs from the old times and I was wondering if you could use the LoG engine not only for a Dungeon Master / EotB style game but for all those great games. Think about Bard's Tale 1-3, Dragon Wars, Wizardry 6-7, Pool of Radiance (ok.. combat would be an issue), Might and Magic 1-2.. all my favourite games of all time. The only thing that's needs to be added would be a turn-based combat system. And you're ready to go!
Man... this would be so awesome.

I would be overjoyed to see Eye of the beholder 1 & 2 re-released with the grimrock engine. assuming that all of the same elements from EOTB were included, such as corpse revival, and illusionary walls

I'm pretty sure AH would be delighted to license their engine for a couple million bucks =)

Might&Magic, Wizardry, Lands of Lore, Etrian Odyssey....
There's a lot for modders to do once they get going

Aren't they releasing the Map Editor and modding tools free? Or was that a dream I had?
Anywho, the map editor would be pretty much all you need to remake Eye of the Beholder.

EotB 1+2 and Lands of Lore would be a good start.

Finally, I nearly lost hope in the gaming industry with all those Call of Whatever Part 8, Fifa 23 and Wii-Sports-33. Bring the good old days back!

(and include turn-based combat because it's much cooler than fast clicking, we're all getting older here

)

i did heard there was a map editor or mod kit coming out later on but not right now. when i started the game the first clue that i knew there might be a kit was the choose campaign at the new game menu. hope they release it soon cause this is a very great game to have and to make your own dungeons to try out or challenge other ppl would be great.

Yeah, I can't wait! I've been remaking since waaaaay back in the day (my first conversion was Spear of Destiny into a ST:TNG game...that's how old I am). Got some sinister ideas brewing already for some maps.
