I have completed the game, but I'm on my second play through, finding many more new areas, but I have a few unresolved issues in Level 6.

Towards the end of Level 6...
SpoilerShow
There is a teleporter that keeps cycling through 4 locations. One of these is a 1x1 room with a face and a button. When you click the button it releases poisonous gas. I have not figured out if that opens up another area or not.
Also, when you drop down into some of the pits...

There is a scroll that says Westmost. I have not found where to place this.
And in the big main room...
SpoilerShow
There is an alcove with nothing in it. There is no clues nearby, but I'm wondering if something happens if you put something specific there. This could be nothing, as there are empty alcoves in numerous places further into the dungeon.

Your second question...
Westmost refers to the west most pit above. Drop down into it and you will be in a different pit area.

I've done that. You get the room you start in, the 1x1 room with the face and button, a 1x2 with a giant snail and a lever, and a smallish sized room with a key in it (which is opened from the snail room lever). Does the button with the face just let out poisonous gas and that's it?

Ah, I never matched that up for some reason, and I try to fall in every pit. Thanks!
