5.1 Surround Sound Speaker config.

I don't see an option to enable this. I have my system attached to a Samsung Blu-Ray Home Entertainment System and the game sound is only coming out of the front speakers. Is there already a patch to fix this?
What's funny is that Minecraft (a Java-based game) plays 5.1 Surround Sound perfectly.

I have a 5.1 setup, and it is working fine for me. Have you double checked you have 5.1 selected in windows?

Same here - I did not have to configure LoG. Once Windows was set up for 5.1, as verified in the control panel, the game is tranmitting 5.1 audio.

I have a 5.1 speaker system but I have to keep windows set up to stereo because 99% of all games bug with it. Oh well, I play with headphones most of the time anyway. =)

Found the problem, thanks guys. I had to enable Digital Output "Play Stereo Mix Using Digital Output" in the SPDIF/IO Tab of my Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Sound Card. Although Intro Music still plays from the front speakers, the in-game sounds are now coming from all the speakers.

Curious. In order to output 5.1 sound from a digital output to a home theater system, as far as I know, requires a card with the Dolby Digital Live feature, which encodes computer (game) audio into a 5.1 stream in real time to be sent over the digital output. The Titanium Fatal1ty Pro X-Fi Sound Card does support Dolbly Digital Live, but I do not know if it is enabled by default. On my system, using the Creative Audio Control Panel, in the Encoder tab, I have Dolby Digital Live selected, which is necessary for me to get multichannel output.
Do you get the correct output to each speaker using the Windows control panel's channel identification test? In any case, glad you have it working.
Cheers

Yes, tested sound with both an mp3 music file and a movie and they both had sound coming from all speakers. I ran both the Microsoft Control Panel AND the Creative Mixer Sound Test and both had sound through all speakers.
BTW, I'm using a TosLink Digital Cable to connect a Samsung Blu-Ray Home Theater System.

It sounds like you have it set up correctly, however a stereo mp3 would not necessarily play in 5.1 unless the music player or receiver are set for multichannel stereo or dolby pro logic. I have often had to struggle to get this working, but my current receiver has a 5.1 stereo feature for two channel material. A modern movie would be surround encoded.
The thing is, even of these work, it does not mean that games will work in surround. A surround encoded film soundtrack can pass directly to your decoder, while games to be sent on a digital output first have to be encoded by Dolby Digital Live. As far as I know, cards without DDL can only output games in stereo over digital. This is why I bought DDL cards.
You would not want to use dolby pro logic if dolby digital is available since DD is generated by the sound card. DPL can make a stereo signal come out of multiple speakers, but not correctly since the encoding its missing. Hopefully your AV system is indicating DD.
I am using a computer in the living room attached to the big screen and a Denon AV receiver, with audio over optical. The receiver shows 5.1 in and out.
Enjoy!

Here's my system:
Chassis: Antec 902 Advanced Gaming Enclosure
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (Administrator Level)
Power Supply: Antec TRUEPOWER NEW 750W
Motherboard: Asus P5Q3 Deluxe W/WiFi-AP @n (Socket 775 with Intel P45/ICH10R Chipset)
Heat Sink & Fan: Noctua NH-C12P SE14
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 3.00GHz
RAM: 4x2GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX 1600MHz
Video Card: Asus GeForce ENGTS450 DirectCU (1GB VRAM X16 PCI-E) (Driver Version 296.10 DirectX 11)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro (Driver Version 2.18.8)
Monitor: LG LK520 47" Flatscreen T.V. with Truemotion.
Speakers: Samsung HT-D5100 Blu-ray Home Theater System with Dolby Digital LIVE/DTS Connect (1000W System Power)
HDD: 3 Western Digital SATA3 WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB, 1 Seagate FreeAgent External 1TB.
DirectX Version: 11
Page File Size: 20GB on D: drive partition
Gamepad: Logitech Wireless Wingman Rumblepad (Driver Version: 5.4.108.0)
Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Pro Combo
Web Cam: Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF (Driver Version: 2.96.6009)
The Sound Card has both Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect. Running it through the latter and everything has surround. For example, the game Minecraft has a mod called Matmos that adds environmental sound (Animals and wind) and turning the character around moves the sounds depending on orientation.

That must be pretty amazing for playing LoG!
