That's amazing! I felt too lazy when starting a game to pick oldschool mode, but now after completing the game once, I might revisit it on hard difficulty + oldschool mode, inspired by this.

Hi,

oh how that reminds me of my old days, when iwas playing "Secret of the Silver Blades" on my C=64. I remember that the hand drawn map filled about 1m² of A4 sheets glued together. Although i found the game recently, sadly the map was gone...

But i think, i'll start a new game in old skool mode.... some time... =)

I like mapping interactive fiction games when I am in the mood.

Mapping is fun.

the design choose of the devs has been perfect. Two modes. Because the automapping feature here is one of the most elegant automaps in a rpg like this, apart the ultima underground automaps, I have not encountered something like that "pergamine fog of war" in years.

Other elegant automap I would recomend is the one in the AGA Amiga versions of Eye of the beholder.

But With time, space and a bit of patience mapping with paper and pencil is worth the time. A lot of great drawings and detailed levels can be very rewarding.

I wish my maps look as nice and clean as your guys maps.

I think drawing maps fufills another need that some of us have..The artist/architect in us...and adds a great deal to the game.
