Any Help For Arachnophobes?

Post by Carnage »

Will there be any type of mod to help out those of us who are deathly afraid of spiders? This game looks to be absolutely amazing, and takes be back to my dungeon crawler days.

I'm not ashamed to admit it, I scream like a girly girl and run the other way whenever I see a spider. I can't physically play Skyrim without mods, and I barely made it through Dark Messiah Might & Magic. I played EotB non-stop when I was a little'un, and I always dreaded the 4th level.

You lucky devil ! You will enjoy the game more! Just make sure there is someone in the room when you play. That's how I finished ghost-horror adventure ' The Lost Crown". ;)

I used to be afraid of spiders.

Then I lived in an apartment for about a year in what must have been the house straight out of Arachnophobia the movie. Spiders EVERYWHERE. Clean the webs out of a corner, leave the room for 10 minutes, and they'd all be back. Any friends that visited would find those spiders in their cars and houses weeks later. I had to change a fuse in the basement once and it was like an Indiana Jones movie, cutting through the webs with a stick.

Now spiders and I have an understanding. They stay out of my line of sight, they live.

Just remind yourself; it's only a game. If you wouldn't grab a sword and go hack people after playing, there's no reason to think a cartoon spider is going to attack you.

^ This.

Arachnophobia really cripples my ability to enjoy a lot of games, so any option, from changing their model to a crab to removing them from a spawn table entirely would be enormously appreciated. Fearing them doesn't add extra fun to a game, it makes me less likely to ever play it.

Are you guys ok with the crabs then?

I suspect once we get our hands on the map editor it may be easy enough to change spiders to something else.
