I would love to see an option or mod that change the light color given by the light spell to have the same color as torchlight.
The yellowish torchlight color helps to improve the ambiance of the dungeon by creating a cozy and mysterious atmosphere. While the blueish light spell rather gives a cold and distant feeling. With torchlight I feel to be in the dungeon, while the blue LED light spell makes me feel like an outside observer.

There is a reason why the color are different. If the color of the spell is same as the color of torchlight, then it would make the torch useless. The game still want you to rely on the torch for the best light source throughout the game. Light spell can be consider as an alternatives in case your torch has run out and you don't have any back ups on your inventory or there aren't any torches around.Dragoon wrote:I would love to see an option or mod that change the light color given by the light spell to have the same color as torchlight.

Actually, I find the blue glow adds to the ambience. The dungeon isn't meant to be cozy!

I actually like the difference in the light effects between the torch and the spell.
I prefer the actual lighting of the torch but it requires one of my team members to forgo using their offhand for either carrying a shield or using a throwing weapon.
While the light from the spell is less "warm" it gives off a sort of unnatural glow that fits in well with the idea of it being a spell. And it doesn't require one of the party members to carry it.
I guess what I'm saying is I like having the choice.

As the others said- it's a magic light; it shouldn't feel as "natural" as a burning torch.

Don't forget that the light spell has a shorter range, too. While the torchlight illuminates a reasonably large area, the spell only creates a small "bubble" around the caster that lights up the immediate surroundings, but abruptly ends a few feet away.

Yeah, the light from the orb/spell is as from a LED flashlight
I find it is OK for me.
