Question About Level 10 Monsters

I opened the door to the Inner Sanctum, and all these spooky tentacle-faced wizards came out and started attacking me. I tried to kill them, but none of my attacks were damaging them, so I managed to dodge their attacks and reach the next area, only to find even more of those wizards.
My question is: Is it even possible to kill them? I'm having trouble getting past them. No need to tell me how to kill them, if it's even possible, I just need to know whether or not it's possible at all. Thanks!

fuck i have done almost the entire thing without actualy killing a single one now... well i quess thats a achievement on its own..

Taking into account that you get 1k exp per one, I don't think that was a wise decision.

Yeah the exp they hand out is really sweet, Its probably just my imagination, but I notice magic takes down the barrier real quick
