How to view ingame map?

Bought the game from steam and loving it. But how do you go about viewing the in game map? I play on normal and tab doesnt seems to work. Tried to change the key map, still nada. I back track to the first cell to see if i miss any item, but cannot find any. Is this a bug? or did I miss something?

Did you enable old school mode? Old school mode completely disables the use of the map.
