Anyone else use a single class group? I've tried all three combos and I'm enjoying all mages. Two battle-mages and two wizard-mages is surprisingly good, but anybody else? Funny stories about dieing or just destroying everything in your path with just a single class?

I'm curious what is considered a 'battle mage', as they don't get weapon or armor skills, sadly. I was kind of hoping mages could be built for melee if you wanted, but nope.

What do you mean no armor?

You could just equip heavy armor and say to hell with evasion. And give them some sort of melee weapon and a staff/orb. They'd still have the low hp, but with the Protection, theyd prolly survive a little longer than the back ones. Granted, with 4 mages, you could just spam spells and nothing would ever touch you.

That's what I'd do, but then they're no longer battle mages, really. Ah well. I think earth gives defense and air gives evasion, so you could put those two out front...

I have a group of all Rogues. a Dagger/evasion master lizardman named Creshik, an agile hand to hand minotaur female named Mouse, human female named jean who is leveled up in assassination and daggers, and finally a lizardman in the back named khris who has almost 40 missile weapons skill.
Daggers are a little bit weak but the high dex lets me hit all the time and my front line lizard man has nearly 70 evasion so I almost never need to worry about his health. Mouse has almost 40 evasion and around 30 protection thanks to the evade skill so....all in all...I never get hit.

Could make them minotaur mages, put all points into strength/vit/dex, but theyll still be mages so they can cast. That's pretty close to a battle mage.

Back in the day I tried playing Dungeon Master this way. About three levels from the end they introduce the Death Knights, which hit hard and are basically more or less immune to magic. I had to start again.

LOL. I always flirted with the idea of doing that in DM. Were there no doors to crush them with?

Insectoid with 6 pts in Vitality, up to 4 pts in Willpower and/or Strength. Natural Armor and Skilled Traits -> At least 5 skill pts in Staff Defense.
