From crystal to crystal

Hello Folks,

I've only recently bought LoG 2 after being an huge fan of part 1 and a former Dungeon Master 1 (and Chaos Strikes Back) fan. Since I was busy with other games I waited till I really wanted it and that time had come. Didn't even buy it from a sale ;)

Anyways LoG 1 at hard was still quite 'easy' and I'm not the kind of guy that oozes in game time so I rarely play a game twice so I want my first experience to be the RIGHT one. So I will definately play at hard and so far it was pretty ok. I only just reached a dungeon with 2 nasty rats in it. Nicely improved combat there! They were nasty critters and no doubt there will be more and harder mobs since it's only early game.
The thing is I also kind of like roguelikes and well save only at the crystals is very close to roguelike, but my problem is I sometimes only have 30 minutes or 20 minutes to play and somehow I doubt it's really possible to play iron mode that way since I simply won't have enough time to reach the next crystal. Can I save more then once at a single crystal? Not preferable, but I could always run back to a crystal to save.

Else I guess single use crystals is atleast an option if ironman mode isn't possible for me.

Ironman mode does limit saving to/at crystals only but they can be re-used after a bunch of minutes as much as you like. On top of that not all areas have a crystal so uncovering and reaching the next one in 20..30 minutes could become a bit tight at times.

Adding Single Use Crystal mode to Ironman will make such short play sessions significantly harder if not impossible on first and unspoilered playing.

This post makes me kinda happy. Because My nearly mod for LOG1 is done. I think you will like it. ( it was hard, but playable, just as I like it, but i tuned it down later for the common players, Its now 100% balanced) But I still got my hard mod save somewhere if you're intrested in the hardmode version^^)
Its hard but fair.

More info when I've released it.

Im still having 2 issues with portraits and the cinematics. But dungeon is as good as done.

Thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to thank you whenI first read it. Guess. I was too eager to move on in LoG2 ;)

I stuck to just playing hard mode, allthough I wish I did single use crystals , but I'm too far in to strt over again. I try not to min/max too much, but ofcourse won't do silly stuff so I specialise things instead of going all over the skills. Just allready know it's not the best choice, but the ones I like most.

I've reached 14 levels so far and ofcourse died a few times from death traps where you end up surrounded by a huge crowd, but 2nd attempts have always been succesful. I haven't looked up any puzzle solution thus far and that's my biggest win tbh. Where combat is never a big challenge the puzzles tend to be. In LoG1 I looked up quite a few puzzle solutions, but I think I'm also a bit more patient now.

Loving it so far. What a great game again. I was afraid I wouldnt like the outdoor, but it's fine and I guess the way they wanted to make this world/map/island it was needed. Still the feeling of the dungeon is still the best. It gives a more tense feeling imo.

Nice. I said log 1 was easy and with that I meant combat. Puzzles do challenge me. Not sure what you made really hard?
