A) I won't be able to access any dungeons uploaded to the Steam Workshop, unless that user decides to host it elsewhere.
B) If I make a dungeon, I won't be able to upload it to the Steam Workshop, which means it'll go unnoticed to a lot of people.
As anxious as I am for the editor to come out, this is quite a bit of bad news
Yeah, I'm hoping that those of use who purchased through GoG will be given steam keys so that way we can still be part of the LoG community. Otherwise we're getting swept under the rug and forgotten about.
Going on that thought... i'm wondering if Almost Human can negotiate with GoG to give them the keys and have GoG issue the steam keys to those who purchased, that way it isn't that much of a hassle with proving purchase and what not.
Kinda like avoiding what is currently going on with those of us who preordered the Sims 3 Supernatural on Green Man Gaming only to find out Green Man was under the understanding that EA was going to issue the Limited Edition and Preorder keys to the expansion once the game key was registered on Origin and EA is saying that they don't have access to Green Man Gaming's database to know if it was preordered or not and what version was purchased so can't do anything.... big headache and us consumers are left in the cold with nothing but the game and none of the promised LE and Preorder stuff.

As long as there's a good place to upload stuff I'll make sure to put my dungeons out there as well as Steam. It'd be great if everyone did that, so people not using Steam aren't missing out.

Well I know I'll be posting anything I make on a 3rd party portal, and possibly on the Workshop if I feel like it later on. Since I got it from the Grimrock website, I was fortunate enough to get both the DRM free version that I play, and also a Steam key which I applied to my account simply so nobody accidentally buys it for me.

I'm not at all worried about the Steam Workshop vs GoG or whatever. Any dungeons that get "published" will find their way to the workshop and to other hosting. People who are not the authors themselves can easily assist with that sort of thing.

I remember seeing "DarkOne" comment that its possible to see a "LOG Nexus" site
are there any talks of this going on behind closed doors?

Yes, if they want to assist and many do. The easiest by far would be to give those that purchased through GoG a steam key so that everyone is on the same table and then there would be less work for those making the dungeons.

I hope so, but Steam workshop has been specifically made to avoid that. One place to manage your work and all its revisions.
I do not want to focus my attention to this "problem" too much: I am sure AH will flawlessly teke care of all his customers.
Now I eagerly await this new gift they pulled out from the hat.
WIth the editor you made your game almost immortal.
Thank you guys.

Hopefully those who bought direct from the Grimrock site, will not be forced to use steam or GOG and will be able to get both the construction kit and dungeons direct.
Personally I WILL not use steam as I do not trust them.
If they only release on steam then they wil lose a lot of fans.
Since Bethesda released the construction kit for Skyrim on Steam only - I have not bought Skyrim, since I could not access the construction kit.

The Workshop sounds like a useful idea for Steam exclusive releases, yes.
For a game where Steam is just one of the options to get it, it doesn't make much sense, unless non-Steamers can access it.
Sure, I can have someone else do the upload for me. But then what if that person disappears from the community, and I provide an update to the dungeon?
