The puzzle works like the original. The "revisited" part starts after you solved it.
I got all four and then to where it tells me I am going to core.... but.... Pillars? Where? What level?
I moved the transporters around in one area and got a gear key... that's the only movable transporters I've found.
I'm still jammed up.

Well .. when you are not at/near the core of the maze of wisdom then my hints will make no sense to you.
In that case you need to fill us in where exactly you are and what your problem is.

Great mod! I had a fun day of exploring.
My favorite parts were the maze and elementary dungeon levels. I didn't quite explore them all--couldn't figure out to get into anyone's tomb except for Naij. I also like how a lot of the secrets had to be found on the basis of context and seeing differences--I only found 18, so I'll retry to mod and see whether I can find more.

Well... I got all three essences except fire. I am at a loss as to what the items that represent "They" are. I got the flute and the scope... What items am I missing? I've gotten so far already without help. I had thought that some items that could represent "They" would be weapons, however that doesn't seem the case. XD Any hints are great to have.

This was the hint given to me and it did the trick.

I saw the text at the entrance. I know who "They" are. I'm going to assume that I'm missing 2 items. so...Flute...Scope...???...???

There are no specific items required to get the fire essence. The info and hint i gave you are more then enough to solve the puzzle.
It's a puzzle about placing weights in the alcoves. All you need to know is how much and then match "Gravis aequalis Letis et Letis".
