I am aware of what Gold Key's are for I simply meant, that this chest wasn't on his map. The Gold Key must be for somthing specific, I was wondering what?

I seem to have completely missed your post
The chest isn't on the map yet because the hint to find it is in a zone I haven't visited yet
The Gold Key inside is just for another cache. The more Gold Keys you have, the more caches you can open. You can't open all caches (in fact you can later, but I don't want to spoil how), so you must make a choice now and then. 1 Gold Key more means 1 choice less...that's all.
