Wow, that last fight was...interesting. Everyone died except my rogue. She had Greater Evade, so I gave her all the fire gear and the remaining books. She tanked her way through, immune to fire with all that gear on, dragging her three dead party members behind her

Yikes, sounds like this should be toned down if you needed fire immunity to get through. What difficulty?
Haven't had others tell me this was overly difficult, though I wonder if some had a lot of trouble here. It's a tough area, but shouldn't be that much harder than other tough spots before it.

Remember it's an escape, your meant to be fast and leave without killing all the ugguardians.
Ideally you want to quickly kill the first few when they appear and have the keys ready to use after each one. It's possible to kill the first three before the next comes out, and unlock those three locks along the way. After that just freeze/evade the fourth one as it is much tougher, use the last key and head for the orb. More will start to spawn to put the pressure on and make it a much better option to just grab the orb and run. Only fight them if truly needed.

Normal difficulty.

The problem is keeping up with the spawn rate. By the third or fourth key, I always wound up blocked by them all, especially when having to wait for the pits to close.

It crashes to me when reloading a save game.
After triggering that event, all save games are corrupt but I'm able to play through (just I can't reload if I want). If I change level, the save can be reloaded without errors, but the game crashes as soon as I reenter level 4.

It happens in level 4, and the cause seems to be happening right after killing the idle snail which triggers the spiders trap. As if I weren't hating the spider enough .

Actually I tested it more:

First of all I was once able to kill the snail without triggering the trap. Which would probably mean I would have been stuck.
Second, it doesn't corrupt savegames when the trap is triggered; it does so after some of those spiders are killed!

sounds like maybe something is being saved that isn't allowed, which affects something else on level 4

The reason why sometimes killing the snail doesn't work is because it seems to be an hidden plate triggered by items, and there is a chance for the snail to drop no food.

Wow, ok. I thought I had squashed all the bugs in this. I have no idea what could be crashing the game there. And it's corrupting save games before this event?
The event in question was done without a script, like most everything in the game since I hadn't learned at that point. How I overlooked this and how no one had an issue until now I have no idea, but that part is an easy fix.
The crash/corrupting on the other hand I am really in the dark as to how to fix. I don't see how it's even related, or where to begin. I haven't been able to reenact this, testing it over and over. One thing I can try is to redo the event with an on death script instead.

Redid with script and updated to steam and nexus. Haven't been able to cause a crash. I hope this is just a freak occurrence, because I'm very confused.

The reason I encountered the snail bug a couple of times is probably because I killed that snail 2987465984 times trying to understand the other problem It's very rare indeed.
The corrupted saves problem is really weird and happens 100% of the time, the error seems indeed not be related with scripting entities.
