Thanks for the hints. I finally finished it and it was a very cool MOD. Every level seemed to have an interested story and game play. In the storeroom (level 2 or 3) I wanted to open every box and bag so it was tough to walk by all of them. Thanks for the MOD.

Played mod for a while, got item error on level 3, seems I have to download new version, hope quick teleport cheating will not spoil something.
As for now I am quite pleased with this mod as it has lots of original stuff. So altough I do not like this "one floor" dungeon solution with reseting everything, all these these puzzles and inovative ideas are really perfect and i am just on the begining. Hopefuly will write more when finish this mod in the future. Thanks for all this effort

Hello Drakkan,

if the "item error" is the one that was reported above with the bad item placement, then you should download the newest version which has this nasty bug fixed. You could use quick teleport cheating, but there is also another way. I have sent you a PM with directions.

Great to hear you like it so far! The "resetting everything" was necessary to make sure we can "control" which items the player has available for certain puzzles. Also we wanted to make sure that the player always knows that he can solve the current challenge by using the resources found on the same level.

As you wrote you are quite at the beginning, there are many interesting levels ahead of you, looking forward to your thoughts and thank you for playing!

Hi there !
I'm stuck at level 7 where the gas is released after I took the mechanism part. I opened few walls pushing some buttons and then nothing seems to happen anymore.
Help please :)

Hello jimirenton!

Do you remember when you have started the game? Was it before October 24th ? Sounds like a question out of a detective novel, :) but if you started your game at this time, it was on a version below 1.4 which might mean the following issue:
SpoilerShow
There was a bug before v1.4 that broke the puzzle if you pressed some of the buttons in the maze BEFORE the doors close and the actual challenge begins. Unfortunately due to how Grimrock handles its savegame files, this error will remain in your game state even if you got the new version via steam workshop or grimrock nexus in the meantime. But this can be fixed easily! If you have started in a version below 1.4, you can do the following:

-Reload an earlier savegame if available, and don't press any of the secret buttons before the doors close and the gas comes in. You should now be able to solve the puzzle properly without getting stuck.

-If you are like me and are always using the quicksave button without creating "proper" savegames inbetween, don't worry! I will send you a private message on this forum right after I finish this post. It will give you instructions how to fix this without losing any progress.
If you are sure you started the game while having version 1.4 installed, there are two possibilities:
SpoilerShow
You simply missed a button while trying to find the way out. There is no "secret trick" to solve this puzzle, if you press all the buttons you should find out sooner or later. In case you started on 1.4 and you still have problems, please watch this video walkthrough of this puzzle to see if it helps you:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2jmggyfHc
If you started on 1.4, watched the video, even followed the directions for earlier versions from above and still can't get out then I need to lower my head in shame because I assume there is still a bug in this puzzle. In this case it would be great if you could give us a more detailed description on where exactly you are stuck so I can review this and provide you and future players with a fixed version.

Hope this helps! I will continue with your private message now....

Hello CosmosAmiga,

here are some hints to help you:

Hint 1:
SpoilerShow
The key is not hidden in the past. But you need to make changes in the past so that the key will appear in the present.
Hint 2:
SpoilerShow
You can change the present by reading the messages (=Emails) on the tables in the past. Each office has an "outbox" alcove, that you can use to answer these "Emails". The answer you choose has influence on the present when you return with the time machine. You can see some of the outcome directly by changes in the present level, and read it in the journals of the employees. Try different answers
for the Emails for different results! To solve the actual puzzle (=getting to the overseers hat), you will need to find the right combination of answers that allow you to get to the hat in the present and being able to return it to the altar.
Hint 3:
SpoilerShow
One of the employees that work on this level of the dungeon has the key, but he could not return it to the Overseers office.
Hint 4:
SpoilerShow
Security Master Francis has the key. He wanted to return it to the overseers office, but unfortunately he got food poisoning. What answers could you give in the Emails to prevent this?
Solution:
SpoilerShow
Use the time machine to go to the past. There are two possibilities to make the key appear in the present:

1. Look in the office of Facility Manager Yoddgur. Take the "B) Repair the heating alcove" message and put it in the outbox alcove. (Remove other messages first!)
2. Look in the office of the Overseer. Take the "C) Order pizzas for lunch" message and put it in the outbox alcove. (Remove other messages first!)

Both of these will result in Francis not being sick of food poisoning and returning the key just as he planned. But only one of these possibilities is the correct one for the overall solution to get to the hat.

If you are still stuck and don't like the puzzle, please post again, I will give you the right combination for all answers.
