if it ain't broken dun fixit, i suggest more attention on retex rather then buffing/deforming the fellow up (this wil allways require extensive modification and possible re-rigging and reanimating stuff, un-necesary re-do of what already works ingame, imo) .

But it is broken. Xanathar doesn't have the tendrils coming out of his butt.
