Because what happens is I go down the hallway facing the wall (not really paying attention to what's in front of me), then back around the same hallway, this time facing the other wall, on the off chance there might be one of those wall buttons I missed.
I go down a hallway facing forward.
I usually see the buttons as I pass them.

I will scour the walls if I reach an obvious dead end that had little in it, or if there is a locked door.
Otherwise, the button isn't THAT important, and only has something optional behind it.
For those, maybe I'll eventually go back, or play the game again looking for secrets.
Like the Lurker Boots. I didn't get those until I walked back from floor 7. No big deal.

Oh I do too for the most part.
Working on Binding of Isaac at the moment.
But I like to go through the game as if I am the characters in it the first time.
I go back and look for all the secrets after, usually.
At that point though, finding the secrets is the game, so I would lose out on a lot if my characters pointed things out for me.

I once again want to stress the fact that the buttons are generously outlined on the wall. I can imagine secret buttons that are way more obscured than the "secret" buttons here. The game does it well in that regard. If you want to use your energy on other things do it. The game will make it known if you absolutely have to find a secret button.
